James, thanks for the comprehensive report back. Its reaffirmed my support for Nick. He seems to be far more thoughtful, reflective, and actually thinking through his response to the main issues facing the party. I’m always suspicious of people who have got all the answers off pat.
Nick also set out his ideas on the diversity issue from the off set, whilst I have only just seen Chris write about this in the last few days, as if he’s been reminded to mention this.

This Huhne and Clegg thing is all very well, but (and I never thought I’d say this) we’ve actually got a really good leader. On the Saudi visit and Northern Rock, Vince Cable keeps making distinctive, principled, and (potentially) popular calls.

Many thanks to our team of blogger interviewers for that. Perhaps the events of Sunday did have some use after all, in that Nick seems clearer now about what he is saying (and what he is not saying)…

I hope when they meet Paxman this evening, their hardest punches will be aimed at Brown, Cameron and Murdoch.
