		<description>I note that Help The Aged has released a survey saying that &#039;old people say they are living in more poverty&#039;.
Ask people &#039;are you poor?&#039; and they will often say yes if they think it may help them get more.

I also wonder how much these people who want to tax the young to provide for the elderly have an eye on their old age... Perhaps they see it as easier to lobby for support rather than to live responsibly...

As for replacing the &#039;cult of the individual with a renewed emphasis on co-dependency&#039; - I think its more subtle than that. I&#039;d say we need to augment individuality with responsibilities and an awareness of the effects of our actions and the fact of co-dependency.</description>
