    Or they just hit their budget limit and Google replaced the ad with something else – ‘liberal democrats cameron’ doesn’t bring it up as a sponsored link, so that’s probably the case.

    Funny, but if the campaign wishes, they can get a refund from Google for the click fraud. (I’m all for making political parties spend money stupidly – it hardly takes much effort, does it? – but this is a sadly inefficient way of going about it.)
